When I was in high school, a talented friend taught me how to paint. I used oils, acrylics, and watercolors. Over the years, I've painted less and less, replacing those skills with Photoshop and Illustrator.

I recently got commissioned to paint an important collectible that will be going on tour, in the style of Renaissance masters. It's an artifact replicated from Pompeii.

So I've been trying to figure out what paint would work best on wood. I'm vastly more familiar with Acrylic, and need to replace my supplies anyways. In the past decade, various companies have come out with slow-drying acrylics and fluid acrylics. Is anyone here familiar with them? I've worked with heavys but not the open. Also have never worked with water soluable oils.

Super digging the Will Kemp Art School site. Leaning towards just regular acrylics since the piece is small, but learning how to use the gels and glazes better.
